About

Max is a band director and K-12 music educator located in Denver, CO. His passions range from the marching arts to modern band, and using the music of today to connect us with music of the past. His foremost goal is expanding equity in the music, and helping his students find identity and meaning through art and collaboration.

Currently the Director of Bands at Thornton Middle School in Colorado, and the marching percussion caption head at Northglenn High School, he previously taught middle school band at STEM Launch in Thornton, CO and K-8 music and band at Firestone Charter Academy in Firestone, CO.

Max performs in bands, choirs, orchestras, and various modern ensembles. He has presented at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic and Conference on two occasions (2024 - Using What Students Appreciate in Music Appreciation and 2026 - Orff the Charts: Engaging Lessons for the Upper Music Classroom).

Max received his Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in the Fall of 2019. His professional credentials include Colorado professional teaching license and educator certifications from Google, Apple, and Soundtrap. He has taken several modern band trainings with Music Will and I is a proud member of CMEA, CBA, and NAfME.
